Stripe is a financial technology company that provides online payment processing and other financial infrastructure solutions for businesses. Brothers Patrick and John Collison founded Stripe in 2010 after experiencing firsthand the difficulties of accepting online payments. The company has since raised over $2.4 billion in funding, reaching a peak valuation of $95 billion in 2021 before dropping to around $50 billion in early 2023 amidst a broader tech valuation slump.

Stripe's mission is to grow the GDP of the internet. The company plans to continue expanding globally, building out its platform capabilities, and moving upmarket to serve larger enterprises, while still catering to startups and SMBs. Stripe is not yet profitable as it invests heavily in growth, but aims to reach profitability in the near future.
